New York State Department of Health has proposed new regulations that will allow any dental assistant (licensed or not) to administer cone beam computed tomography to patients after demonstrating satisfactory completion of a training program either approved by the Department of Health or provided by the equipment manufacturer.  Supervision by a dentist is still required.  These proposed regulations are currently open for comment for 45 days.  The full text can be found here.
