COVID-19 Update – NYS Limits Dental Procedures to Emergency Only

Published on: March 23rd, 2020

The New York Governor issued his latest EXECUTIVE ORDER on March 20 with regards to the COVID-19 virus.  Called the PAUSE order, this new directive states that all non-essential businesses statewide must close in-office personnel functions effective at this time.  This order defines Essential Health Care Services to include, “doctor and emergency dental” visits.

So, the “emergency-only” procedures recommendation issued by many associations, is now, in fact, a State of New York executive order.  Many OMSF training programs have also issued similar restrictions due to the highly invasive nature of OMSF procedures.
