The purpose of the Society shall be to promote and advance the science of oral and maxillofacial surgery and to safeguard the interest of the public and the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery by:
Elevating the professional standards of practice.
Encouraging advancement in research and programs of oral and maxillofacial surgical education.
Enlightening the dental and medical professions and the general public in matters relating to oral and maxillofacial surgery.
